Fortnite Holofoil Sprites — how to find every Holofoil variant

A focused Holofoil hunt walkthrough — where the new shiny variants show up after the July rollout and how they sit beside Gold, Gummy, and Galaxy columns.

Fortnite Sprite Variants Explained

Fortnite Sprite variants are alternate forms of the same base Sprite. Normal, Gold, Gummy, and Galaxy make up the Core checklist (61 slots). Holofoil expands eligible Sprites into Full mode (66 slots) after the July 9, 2026 rollout. Burnt Peanut stays a single Mythic with no variant columns.

Variants do not change the base passive. A Gummy Demon still siphons on eliminations; a Galaxy Water Sprite still regenerates shields in water. What changes is the bonus layer: XP, Dust, ammo, or squad rare-chest odds. Rank passives on the abilities guide, then use this page to decide which color to farm.

Every Sprite Chest open rolls which Sprite and which variant together. That is why galaxy sprites Fortnite and gummy grim sprite chance searches feel oppressive — you need the right base and the right color in one roll. Track both axes on the home checklist Core / Full toggle.

What are Gold, Gummy, and Galaxy variants?

Gold adds elimination XP, Gummy adds +10% Sprite Dust on extract, Galaxy adds +20% ammo from ammo boxes. Holofoil (released later) helps squads find rare variants in chests more often.

Do variants change what a Sprite does?

No. The passive ability stays the same. Variants only add economy or squad bonuses on top.

Gold, Gummy & Galaxy Bonuses

Gold variants add bonus XP from eliminations. Use Gold when you die often during mastery pushes — the XP refund softens re-summon resets. Gold rates sit well below Normal (~0.05–0.69% Sprite Chest depending on rarity), so treat Gold as a “nice while farming Normals” payoff rather than a primary target.

Gummy variants add +10% Sprite Dust when extracted. Over a long Chapter 7 Season 3 mastery track, Gummy is the highest practical ROI variant for most players. Gummy grim sprite chance is microscopic, but Gummy Epics (~3% Sprite Chest on many bases) are realistic nightly goals.

Galaxy variants add +20% ammo from ammo boxes. Combat-heavy lobbies feel the difference; collectors chase Galaxy for the purple flex and checklist completion. Mythic Galaxy rows (Galaxy Grim, Galaxy Zero Point) are lottery tickets — open the Galaxy Grim chances guide for exact Grim percentages.

Holofoil Sprites — What Changed in July

Holofoil Sprites began rolling out on July 9, 2026, with Power Hour events amplifying find rates around July 11. Holofoil is an extended variant — not a replacement for Galaxy. Eligible bases currently include Water, Fire, Ghost, King, and Striker (more may unlock as Epic expands the pool).

The Holofoil bonus — squad finds rare Sprite variants in chests more often — makes Holofoil uniquely team-friendly. Solo players still want the checklist slot; squads stacking Holofoil carriers accelerate everyone’s Gold/Gummy/Galaxy odds during chest routes.

Holofoil drop text in community tables is still settling (“rolling release”), so treat open volume + event windows as the strategy. Pair Holofoil nights with dense routes from the locations guide and read patch notes on the updates log.

What are Holofoil Sprites in Fortnite?

A shiny extended variant released July 9, 2026. Holofoil helps your squad find rare Sprite variants in chests more often and adds Full-mode checklist slots.

Is Holofoil rarer than Galaxy?

They are different tracks. Galaxy sits in the core four-variant math; Holofoil is an extended rolling release. Some Holofoil hunts feel easier during Power Hour than Mythic Galaxy grems.

Unreleased Variants — Gem, Cube, Quack

Datamines and competitor trackers list Gem, Cube, and Quack as upcoming extended variants. Gem is tagged for −30% fall damage. Cube is associated with Dream and Punk. Quack is associated with Zero Point. None of these belong on your live checklist until Epic ships them.

Do not rebuild your Dust budget around unreleased colors. Focus on Core four + live Holofoil. When Gem/Cube/Quack land, the updates log will note them and Full mode slot counts will rise again.

Which Fortnite Sprite Variant to Chase First

Optimal Fortnite Sprite variants order for most accounts: fill Rare Normals → Gummy of your favorite combat passive → Gold of high-use Epics → Holofoil on eligible favorites → non-Mythic Galaxy → Mythic Galaxy lottery. That sequence maximizes playable power and Dust before ego grems.

Collectors optimizing for checklist percentage should still equip a strong combat Sprite while opening chests — see abilities. Dying early with only a Weak Rare equipped slows every variant column, including Galaxy.

Published container odds for each color live in the drop rates guide. Use those tables when deciding whether tonight’s session targets Gummy Fishy or another Galaxy Epic.

Variants, Extraction & Checklist Workflow

Extraction banks the exact variant you carried. A Galaxy find extracts as Galaxy; swapping colors mid-match is impossible — you must find each form separately. Holofoil slots are separate checklist cells from Galaxy on the same base.

After extract, mark the cell on the home checklist immediately. Duplicate Normal farms feel bad when you already own the color — filters for Missing / Gummy / Galaxy / Holofoil exist for that reason.

Re-summon costs scale with rarity and special variants. Burning Dust to re-equip a Galaxy Mythic for a hot drop is how completionist budgets collapse. Keep a Portable Extractor for lucky rolls — extraction guide — and farm Gummies when the wallet is empty.

How do I get Galaxy Sprites in Fortnite?

Open huge volumes of Sprite Chests (and vault keycard rooms). Galaxy is a low-percent roll on top of the base Sprite — there is no guaranteed container.

Should I chase Gummy or Galaxy first?

Gummy first for Dust income. Galaxy after your mastery budget is stable — unless you already have spare currency and want the checklist flex.
